Avast, NortonLifeLock Confirm Deal Talks

Cybersecurity firms Avast and NortonLifeLock have acknowledged talking about a potential merger, with the maker of Norton antivirus software saying it was mulling a cash-and-shares bid for Avast. So reports Yahoo Finance.

nortonAvast said in a statement that it was “in advanced discussions” about a possible deal.

NortonLifeLock’s board said in its own statement, “A combination of NortonLifeLock and Avast would bring together two companies with aligned visions, highly complementary business profiles and a joint commitment to innovation that helps protect and empower people to live their digital lives safely.”
