Fifth Third Bank Warns of Data Breach By Insiders

Fifth Third Bank has revealed that some of its employees seemingly leaked sensitive customer information. So reports The Sarasota Herald Tribune.

building 326793 640smallThe 16th-largest U.S. bank by deposits said it had fired the suspects but did not detail how many employees were believed to be involved.

“The information was stolen by a small number of employees who provided it to people outside of the bank,” said Laura Trujillo, a Fifth Third spokesperson. “According to the authorities, and based on our own internal investigation, we have terminated the employees involved in any wrongdoing.”
