Symantec Starts Layoffs in Planned 7% Staff Reduction

Symantec has begun job cuts it has warned could lower headcount by 7% through March 2020. So reports The San Francisco Chronicle.

The Mountain View, California-based cybersecurity company, which has more than 11,000 employees globally, revealed the planned layoffs on August 8, the same day it agreed to sell its enterprise division to chipmaker Broadcom.

Now, a California filing has revealed that Symantec has pink-slipped 152 employees at its headquarters, 18 in San Francisco and 36 near Los Angeles. Employees found out they were being laid off on August 8 and their jobs end on October 15.
