Healthcare Data Breach Forces Bill Collector Into Bankruptcy

Retrieval-Masters Creditors Bureau Inc., which does business as American Medical Collection Agency, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. So reports Bloomberg.

AMCA came into the spotlight after it was involved in a data breach that affected millions of people, including clients of the medical testing companies Quest Diagnostics and Laboratory Corporation of America. According to a bankruptcy petition filed in New York federal court, after the incident, AMCA lost the business of its four biggest customers—Quest, LabCorp, Conduent Inc. and CareCentrix Inc.
