Ex-Cybersecurity Pro Charged With $9M Crypto Theft

Federal prosecutors have arrested and charged Shakeeb Ahmed, described only as a “former security engineer” for an “international technology company,” with stealing about $9 million in cryptocurrency. So reports Gizmodo.

jail 1287943 1280 While an Amazon spokesperson declined to detail Ahmed’s former role, they confirmed to the news blog that he previously worked at the tech giant.

The 34-year-old pleaded not guilty and was released on bond.
