Human Error Caused D.C. Health Data Breach: Official  

A leading official announced that a “human mistake” was to blame in a recent data breach of Washington, D.C.’s health insurance exchange that affected thousands of people. So reports the Associated Press.

capitol 720677 640smallMila Kofman, executive director of the District of Columbia Health Benefit Exchange Authority, revealed the finding that the breach was not intentional in a prepared statement ahead of a congressional hearing.

Kofman noted that the breach affected “17 Members of the House and 43 of their dependents, and 585 House staff members and of their 231 dependents.”
