Hive, a Twitter Alternative, Goes Down After 'Security Issues'

Hive Social, a microblogging app that gained in popularity as a Twitter alternative following Elon Musk’s takeover of the social media company, has taken its servers offline amid cybersecurity concerns. So reports Gizmodo.

Hive socialHive said in a statement posted to Twitter: “The Hive team has become aware of security issues that affect the stability of our application and the safety of our users. Fixing these issues will require temporarily turning off our servers for a couple of days while we fix this for a better and safer experience.”

The move came after German security collective Zerforschung issued a report finding that Hive had software bugs that compromised virtually all of its users’ personal information.
