Governors Seek Cybersecurity Relief in Next Pandemic Bill

A coalition of organizations representing state and local officials, led by the National Governors Association, has called on Congress to ensure that any future coronavirus rescue bill includes aid for cybersecurity infrastructure. So reports StateScoop.

capitol 720677 640smallIn a letter to congressional leaders, the alliance of 12 groups wrote, “COVID-19 has required our workforces, educational systems and general way of life to quickly move remotely, exerting greater pressure on cybersecurity and IT professionals and increasing the risk of vulnerabilities and gaps to state and local networks.”

Others signing the letter included the National Association of State Chief Information Officers, National League of Cities, National Association of Counties and National Association of State Legislatures.
