Capital One Demotes Cybersecurity Chief After Data Breach

Capital One has relieved its chief information security officer of his duties following a data breach in July affecting about 100 million customers. So reports TechCrunch.

“Michael Johnson is moving from his role as chief information security officer to serve as senior vice president and special advisor dedicated to cyber security,” a company spokesperson said, according to the article

While Capital One looks for a permanent successor to Johnson, the role will be filled on an interim basis by Mike Eason, previously chief information officer for the company’s commercial banking division.
