Facebook Investor Lawsuit Over Privacy Breach is Dismissed

A federal judge in California has thrown out a class action lawsuit claiming that Facebook misled investors about how a privacy breach might affect its share price. So reports Reuters.

U.S. District Court Judge Edward Davila ruled that investors had failed to claim that Facebook had intentionally given false information that caused shareholders to lose money. Investors will have an opportunity to refile the lawsuit, which stems from a breach, revealed in December 2015, that allowed UK political consultancy Cambridge Analytica to see about 87 million Facebook users’ personal information.
