Big Norwegian Aluminum Producer Hit with Major Cyber Attack

Norsk Hydro, one of the world’s biggest aluminum producers, switched from digital to manual operations at some of its plants and saw manufacturing halted at others due to a ransomware attack. So reports The Washington Post.

The company’s share price fell, stoking worries about the hack’s effects for the wider aluminum markets. Public evidence reportedly indicates the attack, which spread from U.S. facilities to plants in the company’s Norway home, was probably led by “low-level” criminals.
