California’s Privacy Law Spurs Class Action Against Minted

The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the new state privacy law that took effect in January, has fueled a proposed class action lawsuit against online stationery marketplace Minted. So reports Reuters.

california 2798001 640 smallFiled in San Francisco federal court, the lawsuit follows the company’s disclosure in May that a third party accessed customers’ information.

The CCPA applies to many companies conducting business in California and is “gaining traction,” notes a blog post from law firm Mintz.
