Rail Giant Wabtec Admits Breach After Alleged Ransomware Attack  

Wabtec has acknowledged the theft of data from its systems during a cyberattack the railroad behemoth discovered last summer. So reports The Record by Recorded Future.

WabtecWabtec did not disclose how many people were affected, nor whether the the breach was linked to ransomware, but in July and August 2022 the ransomware group Lockbit leaked what it claimed was all of the data stolen from the company.

Wabtec, which counts 25,000 employees in 50 countries, said personal information exposed in the breach included Social Security numbers, passport numbers and financial details as well as data on criminal convictions and sexual orientation.
