White House Unveils Plans for IoT Security Labeling Push  

The White House has announced plans for a cybersecurity labeling program for Internet of Things devices that would begin a targeted rollout in spring 2023.

Internet of thingsAccording to a statement from National Security Council spokesperson Adrienne Watson, the program would be akin to an “EnergyStar” sticker of compliance, but for cybersecurity.

The announcement followed a meeting between Biden administration officials and device makers, retailers and industry groups.
