Verizon: Ransomware Breaches Jumped Last Year  

Ransomware attacks resulting in data breaches surged in prevalence in 2021, according to Verizon’s annual data breach investigations report. So reports Protocol.

VerizonRansomware breaches rose 13% last year from 2020, a substantial jump considering the study’s sample size, according to Verizon.

The 15th annual report covers more than 5,000 confirmed breaches and nearly 24,000 security incidents, with data from 87 contributors including the FBI, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, CrowdStrike, Palo Alto Networks, Proofpoint and Dell.
