China Bigwig Notes Security Risks from Intelligent Vehicles  

An authority with China’s information technology ministry has urged rulemaking steps to guard against the unauthorized collection of personal data and other cybersecurity risks from intelligent vehicles. So reports Bloomberg News.

china 156219 640smallXin Guobin, a vice minister with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, was quoted as saying during a forum, “If regulatory measures cannot keep up in time, network security issues such as network attacks and network intrusions may [pose] major security risks.”

Xin said regulators will review standards for entry into the intelligent-car network and will mandate security self-inspections for companies in the space.
