Delta Variant Poses Burnout Risk for Cybersecurity Pros

Among the many challenges raised by the spread of the Delta variant of COVID-19 is increased pressure on already-strained cybersecurity teams as companies extend remote work. So reports Politico.

corona 4893276 640 smallNicholas Avila, chief technology officer at cybersecurity consultancy Globant, told Politico, “Companies will have a burnout issue among their IT and cyber talent unless they embed a ‘digital-first’ mentality across their business.”

Part of the problem, Avila said, is that cybersecurity workers are being tasked with figuring out more sustainable security regimes than the short-term fixes that some companies put in place earlier in the pandemic.
