Universities from Stanford to Miami Entangled in Accellion Breach

At least six universities from coast to coast seem to have joined the growing list of organizations affected by a data breach involving vulnerabilities in information security provider Accellion’s file-transfer product. So reports Gizmodo.

accellionSensitive data has reportedly been found on the dark web from Stanford University; the University of Maryland, Baltimore; the University of Miami; the University of California, Merced; the University of Colorado and Yeshiva University.

The University of California system has issued a statement warning students and faculty not to reply to emails that claim “your personal data has been stolen and will be published.”
