Washington Healthcare Ransomware Attack Affects 200,000

A ransomware attack has potentially exposed personal data belonging to more than 200,000 patients, providers and staff of MultiCare, a healthcare company based in Washington state. So reports the Tacoma News Tribune.

ransomware 3998798 640 smallWoodcreek Provider Services, MultiCare’s medical practice management firm, said the ransomware hit its tech services vendor, Netgain Technology.

Woodcreek said the data was returned after the payment of an undisclosed ransom.
