Report Revives Claims of Chinese Spying Via Supermicro Hardware

A new report from Bloomberg has brought back controversial claims linking data breaches in the U.S. Department of Defense, Intel and other unnamed companies with Chinese hackers and gear made by Silicon Valley-based Supermicro. So 9to5Mac reports.

china 156219 640smallSupermicro disputed Bloomberg’s report, saying in a statement that the news organization had put together “a mishmash of disparate and inaccurate allegations” that “draws farfetched conclusions.”

A 2018 Bloomberg report that Apple and Amazon had found malicious chips on Supermicro equipment they’d bought led each company to call for a retraction.
