Solarwinds Breach Widens to Involve Suspected Chinese hackers

The massive Solarwinds data breach that lawmakers have dubbed a national emergency has taken a new turn, with sources saying that suspected Chinese hackers used a bug in the company’s software to access U.S. government systems. So reports Reuters.

china 156219 640smallAn FBI probe recently determined that the hack affected a federal payroll agency, two of the sources told Reuters.

The suspected Chinese group used a different software bug from the one Russian state actors allegedly exploited to expose data from as many as 18,000 SolarWinds clients.
