Russian State Hackers Apparently Behind U.S. Government Breach

A team of hackers working for the Russian government and known as Fancy Bear appear to have been responsible for a previously disclosed breach of an unidentified U.S. government agency. So reports Wired.

russia 1020934 640smallThe group, also known as APT28, previously played a role in hacks and leaks prior to the U.S. 2016 presidential election and in cyberattacks during the current election cycle.

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency recently issued an advisory warning that hackers had breached a federal agency but did not name the attackers or the agency victimized.
