Amtrak Admits Data Breach May Have Exposed Customer Accounts

The National Railroad Passenger Corporation, better known as Amtrak, has disclosed a data breach and potential compromise of customer account information. So reports ZDNet.

amtrak 876085 640An unknown outsider fraudulently accessed Amtrak Guest Rewards accounts in a breach uncovered on April 16, Amtrak said in a letter to the Vermont attorney general’s office.

Amtrak stressed that while some personal information could have been seen, the breach did not involve financial data or Social Security numbers.
