Hackers Delay Record-breaking Whisky Auction

An auction of some of the world’s most expensive whiskies has been postponed after a cyber attack. So reports The Guardian.

barrel 373040 640smallThe Australia-based auction firm said in a statement that “WhiskyAuctioneer.com experienced a targeted, technologically sophisticated, sustained and malicious attack on our website and databases.”

The auction, which was in its second phase, was billed as “the largest and most unprecedented private whisky collection ever to be offered for public sale.” The first phase took in £3.2 million.
