Boeing, Tesla Parts Maker Suffers Ransomware Attack

Visser, a precision parts maker for companies in the aeronautics and automotive industries, has confirmed that hackers accessed its data in a “criminal cybersecurity incident.” So reports TechCrunch.

ransomware 3998798 640 smallSecurity researchers said the cause of the breach was a new strain of file-encrypting ransomware known as DoppelPaymer.

Files in folders with Visser customer names—including Tesla, SpaceX, Boeing, and Lockheed Martin—were reportedly available for download on a website that posts materials stolen with the DoppelPaymer ransomware.
