Apple Apologizes, Brings Siri Audio Clip Review In-house

After an uproar, Apple has announced changes to the way that it reviews audio to assess how well its Siri personal assistant is functioning. So reports TechCrunch.

Apple said in a blog post that it was apologizing and that users would now be asked to opt-in before their audio could be used for Siri “grading” purposes. Apple also said that any grading would now be done by Apple employees, not contractors.

The announcement came after a Guardian report detailed how, in some cases, quite private and sensitive audio had been sent to Apple contractors for review.
