Evite Data Breach Wider Than Previously Thought

More users were affected by a recently revealed data breach at Evite than was originally understood. So reports Bleeping Computer.

Evite disclosed in May that personal data of 10 million users was potentially compromised when an unauthorized third-party accessed the company’s servers on February 22. Now, the database breach monitoring service Have I Been Pwned has added a database dump that brings the total of compromised accounts to nearly 100 million.

The person identified as the source of the database dump told Bleeping Computer that only the email addresses of the additional 91 million users were exposed. Evite had said that the original 10 million users’ “potentially affected information could include names, usernames, email addresses, passwords, and, if optionally provided to us, dates of birth, phone numbers, and mailing addresses.”
