Supreme Court Sets Up Data Breach Suit Against Amazon’s Zappos

The U.S. Supreme Court has cleared the way for a putative class-action lawsuit over Amazon-owned Zappos over a 2012 hack that compromised the sensitive personal data of 24 million customers. So reports Bloomberg.

The retailer, which contended the suit couldn’t proceed without evidence of material harm, was appealing a ruling by a San Francisco federal appeals court. The high court rejected the appeal, disappointing business groups.
