Hackers Steal $40M from Binance Bitcoin Exchange

Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has disclosed that hackers took 7,000 bitcoins, worth about $40 million, in a single withdrawal as a result of a “large scale security breach.” So reports Bloomberg.

Binance said on its website that the hackers used a “variety of techniques” such as phishing and viruses to access a trove of user data. Bloomberg notes that the theft is the latest of many in the cryptocurrency world.
