Duke Energy Fined $10M for Cybersecurity Violations

Duke Energy has been hit with a $10 million fine by the utility industry’s self-regulatory organization for cybersecurity violations. So reports the Charlotte Business Journal.

It’s the biggest cybersecurity fine ever from the North American Electric Reliability Corp., which told federal regulators that “although the risk posed... by the violations ranged from minimal to serious... the 127 violations collectively posed a serious risk to the security and reliability” of the electrical grid.
