Russia’s Security Strategy Prioritizes Cybersecurity  

An updated version of Russian’s national security strategy stresses information security as a top priority compared with the previous document published in December 2015, a top Kremlin official has said. So reports the Associated Press.

russia 1020934 640smallNikolai Patrushev, the secretary of the presidential Security Council, said that the strategy calls for “forceful methods if necessary” to respond to hostile acts by foreign nations. In an interview published by the government daily Rossiyskaya, Patrushev said Moscow might pursue “symmetric and asymmetric measures to thwart or avert unfriendly actions that threaten the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Russian Federation.”
