Healthcare Data Breaches Forecast to Cost $4B in 2019

Data breaches are projected to cost healthcare providers $4 billion this year, according to a survey by Black Book Market Research. So reports Healthcare Finance News.

Black Book predicted that 2020 could be even more expensive, as physician organizations and groups report a decrease in cybersecurity spending, with less than 1% of their information-technology budgets set aside for cybersecurity in 2020. “It is becoming increasingly difficult for hospitals to find the dollars to invest in an area that does not produce revenue," Black Book founder Doug Brown said in a statement.
