The complaint in federal court claims that the university violated the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act by failing to “establish appropriate security safeguards” for personally identifiable information.
A U of M spokesperson told MPR that while the institution does not comment on litigation, “I want to reiterate that the safety and privacy of all members of the University community are among our top priorities.”
