Of 654 cybersecurity startups that raised more than $1 million in venture capital funding in 2020 and 2021, just 22 (3.3%) had women as their CEOs, a study by risk-based vulnerability management firm NopSec has found. So reports CPO Magazine.
NopSec CEO Lisa Xu is quoted as saying, “With just 3% of companies being led by women, do we really wonder why we have a gender diversity problem in cybersecurity?”
Funding for cybersecurity startups totaled $21 billion last year, up from 8.9% billion the year before.
