In an email announcing the changes to the department’s staff, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken wrote, “This structure will provide us with greater leadership and accountability to drive the diplomatic agenda with the interagency and abroad.”
A State Department spokesperson told CNN the new office will concentrate on international cybersecurity, international digital policy and digital freedom.
