By a 3-2 vote, the FTC approved the policy statement, which affirms that health apps and connected devices collect the type of data that is covered by 2009’s Health Breach Notification Rule.
The FTC observed that health apps increasingly track sensitive data relating to glucose levels, heart health, fertility and sleep.
