Soccer Club Must Pay $357,000 Over Data Breach

German data protection officials have announced a data breach fine of 300,000 euros ($357,000) against the Stuttgart soccer club. So reports the Associated Press.

football 157930 640 1The ninth-place club allegedly shared member data with third parties that they could have used for marketing purposes, without telling the members.

Stefan Brink, the top data watchdog for the state of Baden-Württemberg, said the club consented to a “costly restructuring” of its data practices.
