Governments Using COVID-19 Data for Other Purposes

Singapore officials promised COVID-19 data would be used only for containing the virus. However, it has turned up in police investigations. This development could be a harbinger for other countries’ exploitation of such data. So reports Bloomberg.

Troy Hunt, founder of data breach aggregator Have I Been Pwned, added that governments’ use of COVID-19 data for other purposes could discourage people from participating in track-and-trace programs intended to slow the pandemic.
