Uber’s Ex-security Chief Charged with Covering Up Data Breach

Uber’s chief security officer has been charged with trying to cover up a 2016 data breach. So reports Slate.

UberThe Department of Justice charged Joseph Sullivan, now chief information security officer at Cloudflare, with felony obstruction of justice.

A spokesperson for Sullivan said the charges lacked merit, adding, “If not for Mr. Sullivan’s and his team’s efforts, it’s likely that the individuals responsible for this incident never would have been identified at all.”
