Virgin has acknowledged the exposure of a marketing database that contained “limited contact information such as names, home and email addresses, and phone numbers” for roughly 900,000 subscribers.

The link to sensitive content potentially opens Virgin subscribers to extortion attempts. Virgin told the FT it would contact affected customers with personalized advice.
