Leav takes over for Chris Young, who moves to McAfee’s majority owner, private equity firm TPG, as a senior adviser. Leav spent three years as president and CEO of BMC, a business software company, leaving in 2019 after an $8.5 billion buyout of BMC by private equity firm KKR.
The move reportedly lends McAfee the opportunity to potentially go public under a new boss.
