Equifax Settles Hacking Lawsuit for $380.5M

A judge has approved a $380.5 million settlement by Equifax to end a class action over the company’s massive 2017 data breach. So reports Bloomberg.

money 1428594 1920About 147 million U.S. consumers determined by Equifax to have had their personal data exposed in the cyberattack are members of the settlement class. That's according to the order issued by Judge Thomas Thrash of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. The agreement includes a $77.5 million fee for the settlement class lawyers, plus $1.4 million in litigation expenses.
