UK Labour Party Suffers Two Cyberattacks As Election Looms

Britain’s opposition Labour Party, which faces off against the Conservative Party in a general election set for Dec. 12, has been hit with back-to-back cyberattacks. So reports Reuters

A Labour spokesperson confirmed the first attack, saying that it was a distributed denial-of-service attack, in which hackers overwhelm a server with a massive amount of traffic.

When asked about a second attack in two days, the spokesperson said: “We have ongoing security processes in place to protect our platforms, so users may be experiencing some differences. We are dealing with this quickly and efficiently.”
