Turkey Slaps Facebook with Fine Over Info Security

Facebook has been hit with a $282,000 fine by Turkish authorities for violating data protection laws. So reports Reuters.

Turkey’s Personal Data Protection Board said it decided to penalize Facebook after more than 280,000 Turkish users had their personal information compromised in the Cambridge Analytica scandal. The agency, which has previously fined Facebook by a roughly similar amount, said, “The board has found that the necessary administrative and technical measures set out by law to prevent this data breach were not taken.”
