Apple Rebukes Google Claim of Massive iPhone Security Flaw

Apple has hit back sharply at Google researchers’ claim that security gaps made the iPhone operating system vulnerable to spyware for years. So reports USA Today.

Apple said in a statement that Google’s recent blog post about the findings was exaggerated and “narrowly focused.”

“Google’s post, issued six months after iOS patches were released, creates the false impression of ‘mass exploitation’ to ‘monitor the private activities of entire populations in real time,’ stoking fear among all iPhone users that their devices had been compromised,” Apple said. “This was never the case."

Apple said a few dozen malicious websites had targeted a minority community in China. A Google spokesperson said the company stands by its report.
