Homeland Security Issues Cybersecurity Warning for Small Planes

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has put out an unusual alert for small aircraft. So reports CBS News.

The alert warns that if hackers attached a device to the wiring of certain small planes, the pilot could receive false altitude and airspeed data, or even possibly lose control of the autopilot system.

The Federal Aviation Administration told CBS News that while a physical breach of airplane security is “unlikely,” these findings are “an important reminder to remain vigilant.”
