Ex-Equifax Exec Gets Prison for Insider Trading Related to Data Breach

A former executive at Equifax, which admitted a huge data breach in 2017, is headed to prison. So reports CNET.

Jun Ying, former chief information officer at the consumer credit reporting agency, has been sentenced to four months in federal prison for insider trading, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced. Ying sold nearly $1 million in Equifax stock after the company discovered the breach, which affected more than half the U.S. population, but before the company revealed its data was compromised.
