AIA Issues Voluntary Standards for Contractors

The Aerospace Industries Association, a trade association for defense contractors, released voluntary cyber security standards to help aerospace companies protect weapons made for the U.S. military. So reports The Washington Post.

The announcement came as the military is considering ways to “incorporate cybersecurity assessments and requirements as it awards lucrative defense contracts,” which has added additional “compliance hurdles” for the weapons manufacturers. A new, separate report indicated many of the nation’s advanced weapons systems suffer from “mission-critical” deficiencies.
