E-mobility Sector is Cybersecurity’s 'Wild West,' Experts Say

The proliferation of e-mobility products, such as electric vehicles, e-scooters and charging points, has created an emerging set of cybersecurity vulnerabilities. So reports The Financial Times.

electric car 3117778 640Andy Barratt, UK managing director of cybersecurity consultancy Coalfire, called the e-mobility space “a bit of a ‘Wild West’” in terms of information security.

Battery management and the overall digital interface are common sources of threats, although hackers could also attack particular parts of a car, or attempt an attack on multiple autonomous cars or connected roadway systems.
