Shutdown Could Threaten U.S. Cybersecurity Staffing

The partial U.S. government shutdown is likely to lead top cybersecurity talent toward the private sector, where they can expect better pay and a more stable job. So reports The Washington Post.

About 43% of the Department of Health and Human Services’ cyber and infrastructure division was on furlough, a DHS official said. A former top cyber staffer with the agency said the shutdown will probably have a “generational effect” on efforts to recruit recent graduates.
